Quantity Surveyor

The Company 

High end bespoke residential builder with a genuine focus on team and culture are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their Queenstown business. Typical projects are absolute top of the line, premium, large, complex residential builds with a mix of light commercial from time to time. This is an exciting diverse QS role with a company that really does put its staff first, as a result staff turnover is low and average tenure very high within the NZ build industry.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage all aspects of quantity surveying on high-profile  construction projects
• Conduct detailed cost analysis, budgeting, and financial forecasting
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure effective cost control and budget adherence
• Prepare accurate and timely progress reports for stakeholders
• Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favourable terms

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor
• Proven track record in successfully managing detailed and complex projects
• In-depth knowledge of New Zealand construction regulations and standards
• Proficient in relevant quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, Buildsoft, Cubit)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
• Membership with the New Zealand Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NZIQS) preferred
